This silver table screen is a set of three joined panels. On the front, the main panel is inscribed with "Qi ding Second Spring" at the upper side, and "Fu Lu Shou" at the center. The left and right panels are each inscribed with "Wealth and Longevity" and "Youth-bringing Elixir" and are accompanied by reliefs of lively characters. On the back, the main screen is inset with a white jade plaque carved in the form of double happiness at the middle. The left and right panels are inscribed with "Three-Lives Ding" and "Wa jin Bell" and are decorated with corresponding ornaments. At the top of the screen there are two swords standing at the left and right end. Between them is a belt of hollowed carving depicting two phoenixes. The Qi ding Emperor was the emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. The second year of Qi ding was the year 1917, which was also the sixth year of the Republic period of China. This work is exquisitely crafted, unique in style, and auspicious in meaning: best suited for a study room’s decoration.
