Description
A group of four Chinese porcelains dating from the Republic period. One item is a green lotus ground famille rose bowl with a 6-character mark. One item is a seal box with a famille rose scene of two boys riding water buffalo, and it has a 6-character mark. One item is a ceramic water dropper in the shape of a boy with a beast coated in blue glaze. And one item is a light blue hat stand with molded lotus tracery and a Greek key band.
Dimensions are: the largest item, the hat stand, measures 6 1/4 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches in diameter, 15.9 cm X 14 cm. The smallest item, the seal box, measures 3/4 inches tall X 2 1/8 inches in diameter, 1.9 cm X 5.4 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Provenance: From a private Boston, Massachusetts collection.
Condition: The bowl is in overall good condition with a small area which has possibly been repaired to the rim. The seal box is in good condition. The water dropper has a chip to the mouth and a repair to one eye. The hat stand is in good condition.
