Description
A group of 13 Chinese white glazed porcelains dating from the Song or Yuan dynasty.
Dimensions are: the largest lidded box measures 2 1/2 inches tall X 5 3/4 inches wide, 6.35 cm X 14.6 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Provenance: From Mr. Ketcherside in Arkansas. Purchased from a storage unit. It comes with a price tag from the National Museum of the Philippines, possibly indicating that it has previously been assessed by the museum for export purposes. Lots 112 to 132 are from the same collection.
Condition: The lidded box has a chip to the interior rim, the boy riding the buffalo has repairs and overpainting throughout, the miniature tripod teapot has chips to the spout and rim, cracks to the rim, and the handle has been repaired and overpainted, the green glazed miniature ewer has a chip to the rim, the hulu ewer has chips, repairs, and overpainting, the carved vase on the pedestal has repairs and overpainting to the rim and handles, the censer on the pedestal has widespread repairs to the pedestal and a crack and chip to the rim, the ruyi water pot has chipping to the rim, the miniature gourd-shaped teapot has repairs and overpainting to the spout.
