A pair of Minton Majolica sweetmeat dishes, circa 1859
Modelled as 'Shell Carriers' and 'Vintners', both with two figures of Cherubs adorned only with garlands of ivy and corn, the boys holding between them on one an open shell and on the other a barrel or tub, fully glazed in Majolica with turquoise interiors and cobalt edges to the bases, 18cm high, one with incised ermine mark and date cipher for 1859, the other unmarked (2)
