A rare Derby figure group emblematic of Summer, circa 1758
Modelled as a lady and a gentleman in rustic dress, the man seated at the side of a rococo column and holding his hand to his face to hide his blushes, a sheaf of corn in his lap, the lady standing and offering him a few corn stalks, their costumes in green, puce and white and with 'cotton stem' type painting of flowers, the scroll base edged in puce, 18cm high
