Footnotes:
The Rolex Daytona continues to be among the most sought after of vintage watches on the market today. The bold contrast between the dial colour and the subsidiary dials makes this model instantly recognisable and as such it has long been lauded as a design icon.

The current example is a particularly rare version of a 6239 with the inner case back numbered 6242. Another example of this reference combination with a 2.0 million serial number was offered for auction in 2017. This watch is offered from the family who have owned it from the 1970's.
