Description
Bowl for cleaning brushes with thinner olive-green celadon glaze on the ends. is delicately molded in the shape of hexagonal flower petals and in the background a coiled dragon flying through clouds and holding a pearl, and inscribed within a lobed cartouche. On the outside between the petals is a pearl. The base has a circular profile and features atifle marks.
This type of petal shape can be seen in Song dynasty kilns scattered throughout the country. Ceramic products were used for the daily needs of the people. The green glazed ware in China known as "qingci". As usual, they were first made in Zhejiang during the Eastern Han dynasty, but date back to the Shang dynasty.
The piece is in perfect condition with no breaks or restorations.
