Description
An antique French stevengraph silk tapestry entitled Le Sentier Dangereux, or A Dangerous Path, depicting a Rococo courtship scene with two lovers in the forest by Johann Hamza, German, 1850 to 1927. Manufactured by the Neyret Freres Company, circa the early 20th century. Signed in lower margins NF and Hamza. Framed. Johann Hamza was amongst the best of German genre painters. At a very early age he was already a consummate craftsman who conceived his pictures in a highly detailed palette. Antique Silk Tapestry Collectibles.
