Condition
Please note that this work has been examined under ultraviolet light and outside of its frame.
A varnish has been applied and examination with ultraviolet light reveals an area of fluorescence 40 x 5 mm at the extreme upper edge, towards the left-hand corner. There are two smaller areas below this, one towards the lower left-hand corner, and one to a built-up area of impasto of the brown pigment of the doll's stomach, with a small area of lifting to the paint surface also apparent. Frame abrasion is apparent at the lower, left-hand and upper edges; however, this is not visible when framed. There is some very fine paint separation apparent to the central passage of the composition.
Taking the above into consideration, the work appears to be in good condition.
