NIB, O gauge. This Santa Fe Limited set was manufactured by Lionel in 1990. It was one of the final sets of the series of "Limited Edition - Collector Series" sets manufactured by Lionel from 1979 thru 1992. These were the sets that gained notoriety as being the ones that came in the bright, solid color set boxes. The set is headed by a Santa Fe Dash 8 40B diesel that features dual Pullmor motors, 8 wheel drive, mange-traction, die cast metal wheels and trucks, diesel horn, headlights, illuminated number boards, traditional "e-unit" (forward-neutral-reverse), and excellently detailed cab & handrails. It was Lionel's first of the series of "simple" dual-motored Dash 8 diesels (prior to the introduction of the computerized diesels of the present day). It is "simply" a brute, nothing complicated, and capable of pulling 40-50 modern era freight cars. New never used and was not tested in the interest of preservation. State: City: Date:1990 Provenance:
