Description
A set of two antique 1860 hand-colored steel engravings made after an original artwork by William Hogarth, 1697-1764, English painter. A pair of engravings titled The Times was created two years before the death of the artist. The artworks contain a pessimistic imagery upon the contemporary politics and corruption in England and a critique of King George III in particular. Both prints are titled underneath. Green mat, golden frames. Collectible Antique Satirical Graphic Art.
Dimensions: Frame 13 x 16 in. Plate 5 x 6 1/2 in. All measurements are approximate.
