Description
Label to interior reads "Matteo Albani fecit Bolzano Anno 17**" The last two numbers of the label are illegible. A nice violin by Italian maker, Albani. Small mother of pearl flower inlaid to the lower portion and back with inlaid design. Housed in a case.
From the estate and lifelong collection of William Garrett Hodges (1946-2014). Hodges was a Virginia-based dealer of fine arts, with specialization in prints and rare books, having collected for decades. He supplied and consulted various groups on antiquities throughout his career, including the White House, the Vice President's residence, the FBI, and multiple film and television series.

Strings broken, last two letters of label on interior are illegible.
