Description
Himler, Mary Martha (American/Western PA, 1890-1982), Untitled Ceramic Vase, 1926, signed and dated at base, 8.25 inches tall. Better known as a painter and art educator Mary attended Carnegie Institute in Pittsburgh, PA, where she studied under prominent local artists like Edmund Ashe, F Bicknell, N MacGilvary, Alexander Kostellow and others. She received her degree in 1928 and in the same year she began exhibiting with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh where she won awards and honorable mentions for her paintings.
