The porcelain circa 1756, blue interlaced L's enclosing the date letter C, the painter's mark of three dots for Charles Tandart, the ground color and gilt decoration laterThe central landscape vignette painted with two birds, the gilt caillouté ground interrupted by three reserves of flowers within gilt foliate surrounds. Diameter 9 3/4 inches (24.8 cm).

Collection of Sèvres, The Earl of Harrington, removed from Harrington House, Charing Cross, Christie's, London, 17 May 1917, lot 44 (1 of 3)
With Dr. La Rehfous, 18 Corraterie, Genève (label).
Jean-Baptiste Tandart, l'aîné, was a painter of flowers active at Sèvres 1754-1803.
The ground color fond rose was first introduced at Sèvres in 1758.
