Description
(Walt Disney Studios, 1938) Original production drawing of Donald Duck from Polar Trappers, which shows the duck wearing a tuxedo and holding a flute in a great full-length; pretending to be a penguin, Donald uses the flute to lure the penguins, which he views as a food source, by playing the instrumental piece ‘March of the Toys,’ from the operetta Babes in Toyland. Accomplished in graphite and colored pencil on untrimmed 12 x 10 animation paper marked "74" in the lower right corner. Image measures 3.75 x 4.75. In fine condition, with trivial light wrinkling to the right side. Polar Trappers is the first cartoon where Donald Duck and Goofy appear without Mickey Mouse.
