Description
An antique Japanese Meiji Period silk tobacco or opium purse or pouch. The purse is embroidered with a scene with a dragon and clouds. The purse is adorned with a gilt mixed metal Menuki fitting made in the shape of a dragon and Mount Fuji. The purse is decorated with hand carved from natural materials Manju netsuke made in dragon design. Suspended by chains with a metal bead adorned with relief dragon motifs. Circa: 19th to early 20th century. Menuki is a kind of metal fitting of the Japanese sword, which was initially put into the hole of the handle.
