A group of Gilbert Shelton and George Crumb Underground Comics and related material
Lot includes two Gilbert Shelton original (printed) front page layouts with overlays for his Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers comics strip for the cover of the Los Angeles Free Press, dated August, and September, 1970. Along with another which is Shelton's original dystopian Military Industrial Complex art work (ink on paper) and layout for the cover of the Long Beach Free Press, dated July 8, 1970. All laid down on 12" X 20" layout board. Along with the lot there are 21 original comic magazines: ZAP, Yellow Dog, and others featuring the comic art or Robert Crumb and others as well as a few comic anthologies.
Provenance: Property from a Santa Barbara, California collector.
