Signed Joseff of Hollywood muted brass toned bow with filigree background, large Square Clear Rhinestone, 12 x 12 mm, with dangling Marquise Rhinestone, and dangle link chains with 3 Rhinestone Flower accents. Art Nouveau Brooch, chunky and makes a statement as typical of retro 1930s and 1940s jewelry pieces. ( note: Joseff did not produce jewelry between 1942-1944) measures app 3 x 4 in. Signed on verso JOSEFF ABOUT: JOSEFF OF HOLLYWOOD , d. 1948, is known for crafting costume jewelry for many of the biggest films and movie stars of the 1930s and 1940s, including Shirley Temple in The Little Princess, Vivien Leigh in Gone With the Wind, and Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra. Eugene Joseff founded Joseff of Hollywood in 1928 renting his jewelry to Hollywood film studios. He created exquisite pieces with his new invention of semi-matte finish to reduce glare which worked well under Hollywood lighting. All Joseff and Joseff of Hollywood pieces are prized by collectors and made in very limited quantities.
