Description
Two stands. The first, an Aesthetic Movement stand with unusual spiral foot pads. Polished and lacquered. Probably 1880's or 1890's. Most likely had a tile top now absent. Stands 26 1/2 tall with an 8" square top. Probably English. Unmarked. The other, an elaborate base boasting creatures, animal hoof legs, foliage, and geometric patterns. Two tone components of brass and aluminum (we believe ~ maybe pot metal). Polished and lacquered some years ago. Unmarked. English or American? CONDITION: Overall, very good to excellent though imperfect. The shorter more elaborate stand has no top of any kind present and the tripod base is sagging and misshaped. Otherwise, it is clean and presentable having no breaks, no repairs, etc. The taller tile top stand lacks its tile and the spiral form feet have some significant oxidization where the foot pads meet the ground. The four tubular brass structural struts have a tendency to want to twist about. No apologies just an accurate condition report on these two awesome stands. Congrats in advance to the winning bidder.
