Description
Two pencil signed linocut or woodblock prints by Charles Reed Gardner (born Philadelphia, PA 1901 & died Philadelphia 1974). Both black and white depicting cedar trees in an Arts & Crafts taste. Original matting. Both printed on very thin fragile paper with the consistency of wrapping tissue paper. Both pencil signed at lower left and both titled "Cedar" and dated 1933. Image size is 8" by 10 1/2" with sheet size slightly large with an average of 3/4" borders and overall matte size at 15" by 20". CONDITION: Fair to good. Matting soiled with brown toning. Prints wrinkled with several minor folds and creases. One print has very small hole of less than 1/8" at lower right. Both prints loose and not glued down though each corner fastened with office tabs. Note matte burn. All sounds much worse in words than in visual reality. Nice prints.
