Alfred Henry Maurer (1868 - 1932), Flappers, executed circa 1925 - 1927, tempera on gessoed board, signed top right A. H. Maurer, signed again on the reverse, 21 3/4" x 18 1/8". Provenance: Wadsworth Atheneum, Connecticut; E. Weyhe Gallery, New York, Ella Gallup Sumner and Mary Catlin Sumner Collection. Sold at Christie's 11/30/1990, #189. Exhibited: Minneapolis, Walker Art Center, A.H. Maurer, September - October 1949, no. 42, (this exhibition later travelled to New York, Whitney Museum of American Art, November - December 1949).
