Item Details

Description

A beautiful sculpture of a female dancer, titled "Dancing with Castanets", executed by Franz Peleschka. This piece is exceptionally well-detailed with precise chiseling and filing of even the smallest elements. A nice rubbed bronze patination presents the surface most handsomely, the delicate balance between gold and brown colors contrasting the original purple-pink marble base. Signed on the base. There discoloration to the gilding, chips to the edges of marble base and other tiny flakes and roughness, with some oxidization to folds of the skirt. Dates: c. 1915. Limited Edition: Uknown. Paperwork: No. Signature: On base "F. Peleschka". Title: "Dancing with Castanets". Condition: (Good - Very Good). Dimensions: 17 - 3/4" x 5 - 3/4" x 6 - 1/4".
