Description
(2) 19th century hand colored lithographs from an illustrated foil of English coat of arms, that of Lieutenant-General Hugh Percy (1742-1817), 3rd Baron Percy, later 2nd Duke of Northumberland and Field Marshal George Townshend,1st Marquess Townshend. Percy's coat of arms feature two lions, one crowned with the slogan "Esperance en dieu" or "Hope in God." Written above reads "for the genealogical table of his lordship family, see folio 7 in this volume." Numbered 37 in top right corner. Townshend's coat of arms is flanked with a stag and greyhound and has the slogan " H AE C Generi in Crementa Fides" which roughly translates to "Race to the Growth of Faith". Missing text cut off below reads "BARONET". Numbered 322 in top right corner. Both Excellent condition. Artworks measure 9.75" x 17". 19.5" x 27.5".
