Description
A FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY SECRETARY BOOKCASE, CIRCA 1800, the molded cornice above a frieze with conforming blond wood string string inlay centering a raised panel of inlaid bead and stylized string lozenge decoration, over paired doors with lozenge mullioned glass panels and opening to a white painted two shelf interior, flanked by long vertical panels enclosing similar string inlay ending before molded trim, on a rectangular chest with matching string inlaid frieze over graduated drawers with associated batwing brass handles and the top two faux drawers composing a fall front panel opening to reveal an interior fitted with various cubby holes and small drawers, flanked on exterior by long vertical panels with same inlay stopping above tapering splayed block feet joined by a serpentine apron. Height: 83'' Width: 47 1/4'' Depth: 22 1/2''
