A Fay Wray 1930s-1980s photographic archive and signed contract
Comprising approximately 84 silver gelatin photographs of Wray with Hollywood stars including Ginger Rogers, Lew Ayres, Fredric March, Dolores Del Rio, Cedric Gibbons, Basil Rathbone, and many others, as well as publicity portraits, candid shots, and scene stills from many of her films, most with stamps and informational snipes to the reverse. Including seven photos from King Kong (1933), one stamped 'RKO' with a snipe promoting King Kong and The Most Dangerous Game (1932); a group portrait of Jeanette MacDonald and Gene Raymond's wedding party which includes Ginger Rogers, Wray, Nelson Eddy, Allan Jones, Harold Lloyd, Johnny Mack Brown, and Basil Rathbone; two glamour portraits; a group shot with Regis Toomey and others; and a trimmed fashion portrait; a 35mm color slide; six color snapshots; and what appears to be a passport photo dated 1961. Photographers include William Fraker, A.L. 'Whitey' Schafer, Eugene Robert Richee, Otto Dyar, Charles Rhodes, and Ernest Bachrach. Together with a two page mimeographed document on onion skin paper, signed 'Fay Wray', Dec. 9, 1955, between Wray and Hal Roach Studios for Wray's services on the production, It's Always Sunday, a Screen Director's Playhouse television production, as well as two lobby cards for The First Kiss (1928) and The Richest Girl in the World (1934).
