The canvas is unlined and appears to retain its original stretchers. The paint surface appears in relatively good, clean condition overall. Some of the lighter pigments appear to have yellowed as a result of age. There is fine craquelure visible throughout the painting. There is minor frame abrasion visible along the extreme edges. Under ultraviolet light, the varnish appears slightly opaque. There appear to be areas of inpainting throughout, notably several spots at center left, several small spots and streaks at lower left, a small streak along the center of the extreme bottom edge, inpainting addressing the above mentioned craquelure at center right, several small spots at upper right, and a swath of inpainting at upper center near the extreme top edge.
