A Rakan on a Rock Holding an Alms Bowl
Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
Kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and colour on paper in silk mounts, inscribed hachijugo Rojin Manji hitsu with a seal; with a wood storage box inscribed Hokusai ryu sei tetsubachi no zu. Overall: 195cm x 45.8cm (76¾in x 18in); image: 107cm x 35.7cm (42 1/8in x 14in). (2).

Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
Kakejiku (hanging scroll), ink and colour on paper in silk mounts, inscribed hachijugo Rojin Manji hitsu with a seal; with a wood storage box inscribed Hokusai ryu sei tetsubachi no zu. Overall: 195cm x 45.8cm (76¾in x 18in); image: 107cm x 35.7cm (42 1/8in x 14in). (2).

Condition
Including but not limited to the following:
Mount: - Good condition with faint rolling creases. The roller ends previously removed and lacking.
Image: - Overall good condition.
- Very slightly faded, toned, soiled with scattered minute foxing spots throughout.
- Several minor but noticeable horizontal/vertical creases of various lengths throughout especially visible in the lower section; a pronounced horizontal crease issuing from the left edge extending inside the image by 10cm, located 30cm from the bottom edge.
- Minor vertical paper scratches (4cm long) located at 4.5cm above the bowl diagonally.
- Faint rolling creases.
