A Gilt-Bronze Inkwell in the form of Ebisu or Daikoku
Meiji era (1868-1912), late 19th/early 20th century
Represented as a fleshy-lobed eared merchant seated cross-legged, his arms raised and outstretched, yawning, an open book on his lap, the detachable hinged cover in the form of the man's head, signed Miyao Ei within a rectangular reserve; fixed to a wood stand. 14cm x 12.3cm (5½in x 4¾in).
