Signed by on the front wrapper by Ken Kesey, Paul Krassner, Peter Coyote, Ken Babbs and John Doss, M.D. ("Digger Batman"). Issued in two versions, one distributed by Diggers with "Free" on cover as in this, the more scarce of the issues; the other was distributed as The Realist, issue #81. This issue features Brautigan's poem, 'All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace,' as well as anonymous contributions from: Neal Cassady, Gary Snyder, William S. Burroughs, Emmett Grogan, etc.

The Digger Papers was a free collective publication of the Diggers, one of the 1960's improvisational theatre groups in san Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. The final issue was published in the summer of 1968. Brautigan, along with poet Michael McClure, would sometimes stand on Haight street and hand out the free publications to passersby.

The usual toning, darkening to top corner of some pages, a few minuscule spots of day-glo color to wrappers, small slit to bottom of pages at gutter; very good or better.
