324. PAIR OF WALNUT DOLLS BY LOVELEIGH, EARLY 1900s. 9 1/4". English walnut heads with handpainted faces, bodies made of wire armatures wrapped with cloth or crepe paper, by doll artist Itura Rosalein Colley Leigh (Miss "Loveleigh"), in Grantville, GA between 1924 and 1955. "Prissy" and "Mamie" from Gone with the Wind; Prissy is wearing orange dress, holds sunflower bouquet and black purse; Mammie wears black and white attire. Both have off-white muslin petticoats and pantaloons; painted brown shoes, felt hands. Commentary: Very good condition. Estimate: $200/400
