69. ELEGANT GERMAN BISQUE LADY WITH SCULPTED STYLISH BONNET. 23”. Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with heart-shaped face, sculpted blonde hair in upswept style, crowned by a white bonnet with feather and painted black band, arrangement of pastel flowers adorning the underside of bonnet, painted blue eyes, red and black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, closed mouth, sculpted white bodice decorated with blue ribbon, bow and cluster of flowers, muslin stitch-jointed body with bisque lower limbs, painted shoes, beautifully costumed in gown of tulle over pale blue silk. Commentary. Choice bisque, beautifully sculpted, replacement body. Notes attached to doll indicate that she was pictured on page 56 in “Old Dolls” by Eleanor St. George; and that this doll was used by Emma Clear for designing her Gibson Girl model.
