Joseph Cibula was born in Meriden, Connecticutt. He attended New Haven's Paier College of Art where he studied with nationally recognized realists Paul Lipp and Ken Davies. Cibula now makes his home between Cape Cod and Higganum, Connecticut.
Cibula is best known for his photorealistic paintings of classic American decoys. He is also a Ducks Unlimited Stamp winner. His charming paintings of whale decoys are favorites among collectors from Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket.
