Qing dynasty (1644-1912), finely painted cover with Chinese boys playing on an outdoor veranda, sides are painted with large peony blossoms with scrolling vines sprouting fruit against a light green ground, underside and interior with aqua glaze, gilt around edges.

Lid with repair and with hairline to top of lid; bottom with some restoration and a chip to interior rim; wear and loss to interior enamel of bottom.
