Description
A carved wooden statue depicting Mary wearing crown and standing on serpent, mounted on wooden plinth. The sculpture with glass eyes and diamond-like earrings. Some crazing to paint, some retouched paint on base and horns, but overall very good condition. The crown, a later replacement. Measures 22"H and the base 6" x 9". Italian or Spanish, probably early to mid 19th century. Provenance: From the Doris and Jerry Soldner collection, Lake Carmel NY (formally of Kingston NY).
