Description
A Jacquard tri-color coverlet in red, blue, and green on white ground, having a central image of 6 large stars with tulip centers. The corners decorated with a turkey standing on a tree stump above a smaller rooster, and having a border decorated with flowers/birds in urns with fringe on 3 sides - the coverlet is woven in 2 parts with hand sewn seam, probably Pennsylvania origin. Some minor yarn losses, but overall good condition. Circa 1850 or earlier. Measures 84" x 74". Provenance: From the Doris and Jerry Soldner collection, Lake Carmel NY (formally of Kingston NY).
