Description
An unusual wooden apple peeler in the form of a shoe having a long plank (the seat) and all hand forged iron hardware and original hand held peeling tool. The unit could be placed on a seat or bench which would stabilize the unit under the weight of the worker when the apple was turned. Early 19th century and in very good condition. Measures 26"H and the attached crank 9"W. Provenance: From the Doris and Jerry Soldner collection, Lake Carmel NY (formally of Kingston NY).
