Gen. of India (upper right)122 x 100cm (48 x 39¼ in.)Provenance: Commissioned for the 5th Earl of Loudon at Rowallan Castle Inherited by Flora Mure Campbell, 6th Countess of Loudon and taken to Loudon CastleEdith Maud Rawdon Hastings, 10th Countess of LoudonUntil inherited by her son Gilbert Theophilus Clifton-Hastings- Campbell, 3rd Baron Donington.And thence by descent at Ardwell House until taken to Rawdon Hall in 1947Catalogue Note:Lady Flora Mure-Campbell was the second daughter of James Mure-Campbell, 5th Earl of Loudon and Lady Flora Macleod. She married Francis Rawdon-Hastings, 2nd Earl of Moir. She would later become the Marchioness of Hastings upon her husband's elevation. In 1805 she commissioned the building of Loudon Castle, the 'Scottish Windsor Castle', to designs by Archibald Elliot.
