2nd century A.D. An umbonate brooch with four lugs to the circumference, one pierced, central dome with stamped triangle motifs, some with remains of blue and red enamel; remains of pin lug and catchplate to reverse; pin attached but loose. Cf. Hattatt, R., Ancient and Romano-British Brooches, Sherborne, 1982, item 128. 6.63 grams, 32 mm (1 1/4 in.) Found Nottinghamshire, UK. [No Reserve]
