Description

Last year Gillsville GA celebrated the 50th anniversary opening of Craven Pottery, operated since it's founding by Billy Joe Craven. He is a descendant of the potter Peter Craven, who began the Craven pottery dynasty in NC. The finished glazing on Billy Joe's jug is not unlike the lead-glaze rainbow of hues of the JB Cole Vase (lot 52). An oversize fun sideways face that reminds one more of a runlet. Oversized facial features, including the set of two rows of clay teeth. A truly fun large face jug. Stands 14" by 9". Signed on base.

Condition

Excellent condition with no apparent flaws or defects. All pottery is inspected and we do our best to note any issues. Look closely at photos and come see in person if you have questions call.
