Description
Ancient Central Asia, Bactrian, ca. 2500 to 2250 BCE. A fabulous gathering of 11 hand-carved banded agate beads presenting hues of sage green, citrine, beige, brown, and opaque white. The diamond-shaped beads have suspension holes drilled lengthwise through the bodies as well as smooth surface textures throughout. Beads like these were used to create some of the most elaborate jewelry pieces in the ancient world. Size of largest: 1" W x 1.625" H (2.5 cm x 4.1 cm)

Repair to largest stone across midsection, with very light adhesive residue along break lines; ten smaller pieces are intact and very good. All items have minor abrasions to faces and peripheries, with nicks to drilled suspension hole openings. Smooth surface textures throughout.
