Description
A bronze sculpture after Suzanne Bizard's "Kind mit zwei Körben". Features a bronze nude, Neoclassical girl wielding two woven wicker baskets in her hands. Finished in a soft brown patina and fitted to a green marble base. Not signed. Measures 5"X5"X11". Weight 7 pds 9 oz. PROVENANCE: A Private Charleston SC Estate. Suzanne Bizard, born August 1, 1873 in Saint-Amand-Montrond and died January 21, 1963 in Paris. She was a life member of the Societe des Artistes Français, where she exhibited until 1936. She obtained an honorable mention in 1900 when her plaster statue Vers l'ideal (No 1846) was purchased by the French Government.
