IBSEN, HENRIK. Photograph Signed, “Henrik Ibsen, Kristiania, 22.12.91”, 3.75” x 5.5”, Kristiana (now Oslo), December 22, 1891. Remnants of previous mounting at verso. The rare vintage sepia photo has a small surface tear at left edge, light creases, else in Very Good condition. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from RR Auction and a Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA.
Henrik Johan Ibsen (1828-1906) was a Norwegian playwright and theatre director. As one of the founders of modernism in theatre, Ibsen is often referred to as "the father of realism". One of the most influential playwrights of his time, Ibsen is the most frequently performed dramatist in the world, after Shakespeare.
