American, 1906, everted lip and wave edge, chased floral decoration, Martele by Gorham (Gorham mark has been crossed out), retailer Theodore B. Starr (New York City, working 1877-1924), "E00", monogrammed "VWLB", .9584 fine, 9.76 oz.T., 7-3/4 in., some wear to decoration, floor buffed and with one dent, light scratches According to L.J. Pristo, Ph.D., [Martele Gorham's Nouveau Art Silver,] this piece was completed March 3, 1903. The piece took 12 hours to make but no maker's name was on the card. The chasing took 20 hours and was done by Oto Colmetz. It was a three-piece set and the net cost was $60. Provenance: Private Collection, Georgia
