(Sam S. Shubert) (1878-1905) Shubert was a and theatre owner/operator .He died in a train accident at the age of 26. In 1913, his two brothers opened a theatre in the heart of the Broadway Theater District, which was named in his honor. Three condolence messages sent to the family after Sam’s death. George M. Cohan (1878-1942) and Sam H. Harris (1872-1941) Broadway producers. 3 ½” x 2 ¼” card signed by a secretary “With Deepest Sympathy Geo M Cohan and Sam H. Harris.” Dewolf Hopper (1858-1935) actor. Telegram, May 12, 1905, “…My most earnest sympathy….” and Lillian Russell (1861-1922) actress, singer. Telegram, May 12, 1905, “…My heartfelt sympathy….” The Hopper and Russell telegrams are not in their hand.
