1743 LAW Doctrina Pandectarum German Jakob Ludovici Justinian Wissenbach
Jakob Friedrich Ludovici was a 17th-century German jurist of whom very little is known. One of his surviving works was Doctrina Pandectarum, most likely written while he was a law professor at Geissen. Like many law books written in this era, this book was heavily influenced by Justinians Corpus Juris Civilis, most notably the Pandectarum. In features contributions from Johann Wissenbach and his Emblemata Triboniani.

Provenance: Bookplate – Richardus Brunck
Possibly Richard François Philippe Brunck (1729–1803), a French classical scholar. He took part in the Seven Years War as military commissary. At the age of thirty he returned to Strasbourg to resume his studies, especially Greek. He spent considerable sums of money in publishing editions of the Greek classics. At the outbreak of the French Revolution, in which he took an active part, Brunck was imprisoned at Besançon, and lost his pension, being reduced to such extremes of penury that he was obliged to sell a portion of his library. In 1802 his pension was restored to him, but it came too late to prevent the sale of his remaining books.
