Description
A set of four porcelain items by Royal Doulton, the famous British manufacturer. The Dickens-Ware series was first introduced in 1908 and continued to be made until 1951. The series was designed by Charles Noke. The lot includes three pitchers with handpainted relief depicting Oliver Twist, Captain Cuttle from Dombey and Son, and a scene from The Pickwick Papers. The latter pitcher has a handwritten inscription on the bottom describing characters, The White Hart Inn in Southwark. A handpainted serving plate depicting Mr. Micawber from David Copperfield. Each item has a hallmark on the bottom. Mid Century Royal Doulton Collectible Porcelain Items.
