Description
A collection of three antique Thai sterling silver brooches dated circa 1940. Brooches are finely hand-engraved, decorated with filigree, enamel, and niello. One brooch covered with white enamel shows a Mekkala, Goddess of Lightning, pictured with lightning emanating from her hand. Marked on the reverse: Thainakon, Sterling, Thailand. The second brooch modeled as three niello leaves shows figures of Mekkala, Ramasoon - the God of Thunder pictured with an ax in his hand, and a female dancing figure. Marked: Siam Sterling.
