Description
Richard Trenkel was one of the most successful private drivers of the post-war period. From 1948 to 1964 he took part almost exclusively in Porsche and VW in around 150 circuit races, mountain races and rallies. In 1952 he was looked after by Walter Glöckler, who built the forerunner of the Porsche 550 for him. With this one-off, he won the German Sports Car Championship in 1953 in the class up to 1100 ccm. The car is known as Glöckler No.5 and is now in the world-famous Prototype Museum. The bundle consists of a silver model Porsche 356 'German Championship 1953 1100ccm' (length: 34 cm, 835 silver hallmarked), Continental horse made of porcelain 'prize for the international AvD - Avus - race 1953', cup 'Int. ADAC Rallye Hanseat 1964 the class winner', cup ''Challenge Prize', lighter, mug: 'Int. ADAC-Rallye-Hanseat 1964' and 'II St. Andreaberger Auto-Ski-Racing 1958 Winner Class 2', 5 plaques: 'Harz Winter Test Drive 31.1.1954', 'ADAC Harz-Heide-Fahrt 1962', 'Intern. Rally Intern. Automobile tournament 1961 and 1962', as well as 'ADAC-Harz-Winterfahrt 1962', 4 original B/W photos, folder with private documents from Richard Trenkel 'death certificate from 1964, vaccination certificate from 1911, leaving certificate from 1924, birth certificate, agency contract with BP from 1938, etc. Only very few deserving racing drivers were handed over the silver Porsche, historically valuable
