Description
Four early medals: 1) 1866 Centenary of American Methodism Children's Medal. Brass, 30 mm. Holed as issued. Attractive EF. 2) Wyoming Spanish-American War veterans medal for Valor. The Wyoming governor's office ordered 325 medals with 299 engraved with names and ranks for officers and names and companies for enlisted men. The medals were produced by Shreve & Co. and awarded in 1902. Engraved to James J. Wright / Co. C. Copper, 38 mm. EF, removed loop, edge dings. 3)1904 medal struck for the 22nd Annual Convention of the Women's Relief Corp. (G.A.R.). Old North Church on the obverse. Reverse inscription reads, OLD NORTH CHURCH / 1775 / ONE,IF BY LAND, AND TWO IF BY SEA; AND I ON THE OPPOSITE / SHORE WILL BE, / BOSTON. Bronze, Oval 30 x 40 mm, AU. 4) The 1886 Globe newspaper circulation and Statue of Liberty commemorative medal. Detailed engraving of the Statue of Liberty signed by G.A. Rowe at the base.
