JAPANESE EDO OR MEIJI PERIOD CLOISONNE VASES, PAIR, each having ovoid well with narrow neck and wide flared rim, raised on a round foot, featuring finely detailed enameled decoration with diaper patterns, two vignettes of a waterfall to one side and a figure in a landscape scene to the other side. Unmarked. 19th/early 20th century. 13 7/8" HOA, 7 1/4" D rim.

Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches, other imperfections including slight bending to metal, minor flakes/chips to enamel, cut holes to bases with repair, and interior age cracks and rusting. Enamel having some surface bubbles and separation, as made.
